Another AMRAP Boot Camp Workout
Below is my plan for Siskey Boot Camp this morning. Obviously, if you are doing this on your own, the set-up won't be exactly the same as the field, stairs, and hill at the Siskey track. Make up your own run, establish your own distances, and challenge yourself in your own driveway/ neighborhood.
WARM-UP = ABS: in gym (Mat and MB)
*30 sec. ea. x Plank S-L Side Swipe Toe Touches
*1 min. x MB-Shin Crunches
*30 sec. ea. x Plank Knee-Out/ Knee-In
*1 min. x MB Leg Extensions
*30 sec. ea. x Plank S-L Mtn. Climb-In (all R 1st 30 sec., switch)
AMRAPs: outside track (MB and Jump Rope)
10 min. AMRAP: bring MB and rope up to sidewalk

List of Functional Exercises
Lately, my training focus has been to teach my clients, as well as my "Charlotte Today" viewers, how to work out at home, at the gym, and on the road using my simple workout outlines (see previous post for a breakdown of them). In order to use these workout templates effectively, you have to switch up which exercises you use/ plug into them. So, I'm going to keep an ongoing list here with this posting of effective, full body, functional exercises. I will try to keep it to exercises you can do at home with minimal equipment: mat, medicine ball, kettlebell, dumbbells (soup cans, water bottles work too!).
Use this as your exercise arsenal...switch it up, plug in different exercises each time you workout, and do NOT avoid the exercises you don't like or aren't good at. If there is any exercise you are confused about or are unfamiliar with, YouTube it; guaranteed there's a great video demonstration of it out there. Design Your Own Workout With Erin's Workout Outlines

*You can choose any exercises you like; be sure to change it up all the time
*Try to choose functional exercises, exercises that load your hips and spine, mimic everyday movements, and work both upper body and lower body simultaneously (examples: lunges, squat, push-ups, burpees, deadlifts, shoulder press, etc)
*Plug your exercises into the fitness outlines, and you will get a guaranteed effective workout
TABATAS: ex. Burpees
-choose an exercise: 8 rounds of 20 sec. ON as hard as you can go/ 10 sec. OFF of pure rest
-scientifically proven effective work-to-rest ratio
-will give you both toning and cardiovascular results
*Try this on a treadmill, too: Set treadmill at a high incline (i.e. 12.0) and at a sprint speed (i.e. 8.0); 8 rounds of 20 seconds sprinting, 10 seconds of rest (hop off treadmill, rest with feet on sides of machine)
